TULUM. The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) announced the arrest of Pablo Jesús “N,” identified as the fifth suspect implicated in the double homicide that occurred on January 9 in the municipality of Tulum, where an Argentine citizen and another man were killed in the parking lot of the Vesica cenote.
According to the agency, elements of the Investigation Police captured him in flagrante delicto for drug-related crimes after allegedly surprising him delivering a small bag of marijuana in the Carlos Joaquín neighborhood, on Juanek Avenue, between Cobá and Escorpión Sur Bis.
During the search, authorities seized marijuana, cocaine, a long AR-15 type weapon, two loaded magazines, a ballistic vest, and a Nissan car adapted as a taxi from Pablo Jesús “N.”
Investigations indicate that the detainee allegedly played a key role in the double homicide, as he reportedly was responsible for renting hotel rooms in Tulum to the hitmen involved, in addition to transporting and supporting their mobility on the day of the attack, as well as safeguarding and moving weapons and drugs.
The Attorney General’s Office specified that with this capture, five people have now been detained for these events, in which one person was also injured.
The detainee and the seized evidence were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and his legal status will be determined within the constitutional timeframe.
