Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — Efforts are underway to transform the Maya Train station in Felipe Carrillo Puerto into a new city plaza to boost local commerce.

According to information released by personnel at the Felipe Carrillo Puerto Maya Train station, the inauguration of commercial spaces will take place on February 1 to stimulate activity and encourage movement at the station.

“The Felipe Carrillo Puerto Station of the Maya Train becomes the new plaza of Carrillo Puerto, a space designed to enjoy, socialize, and support local commerce,” station officials stated.

The inauguration will feature the opening of restaurants, handicrafts, local shops, as well as a cultural program.

“Everyone is invited to discover and enjoy this new meeting point that promotes economic development and strengthens the identity of our community,” they added.

Currently, the Maya Train station promotes an educational and fun experience on the Maya Train, offering tours to archaeological sites, natural attractions and jungle areas, and cultural and traditional sites.
