Cozumel, Quintana Roo — A 65-year-old man was killed in a shooting on Saturday night in Cozumel, with preliminary reports indicating he was the father of José Luis Coral, alias “El Cotorro,” who authorities have identified as a generator of violence.
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on Adolfo Rosado Salas Avenue, between 75 Bis and 80 streets, near a grocery store. Gunshots were reported in the area before the victim was found.
State Police officers arrived as first responders, while paramedics from the International Clinic attempted to provide medical attention. However, they confirmed the man showed no vital signs.
The area was cordoned off, and forensic experts from the State Attorney General’s Office are conducting the corresponding processing. The information remains under development.
