Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A man was detained in the Ejido neighborhood after allegedly exposing himself to several women and shouting obscenities at one of them. The incident occurred on Juárez Avenue between Federal Highway and 55th Avenue, near a business called "Turismo Azul."
Incident Details
According to reports, the suspect was inside the establishment when he noticed a group of women passing by. He then exited the premises, exposed his genitals, and confronted one of the women while uttering vulgar language. The victim, frightened by the encounter, immediately sought help from bystanders.
Witnesses called emergency services, but before authorities arrived, a patrol unit from the Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat happened to pass by. Officers intervened, and the woman identified the suspect, who attempted to hide inside the business. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.
Legal Proceedings
The man was transported to preventive detention due to his disruptive and offensive behavior. Authorities advised the victim to file a formal complaint to ensure the case is forwarded to the State Attorney General’s Office for further legal action.
The incident has raised concerns among local residents, prompting calls for increased security measures in the area.
