Cancún, Quintana Roo — On the night of Sunday, December 28, Itzel Barro, wife of television host Carlos Alberto “El Capi” Pérez Ibarra, announced the death of her relative Nataly Montserrat, a 30-year-old woman who had been reported missing in the state of Quintana Roo.
Through a statement shared on social media, Barro reported that the young woman was found deceased after several days of intense searching. In the message, she requested respect and discretion, noting that at the family’s request, no details about the case would be shared. It is worth remembering that Itzel Barro herself helped publicize the missing person report after Nataly Montserrat was last seen in Cancún.
After the news became known, various entertainment figures expressed their condolences publicly, including Romina Marcos, Esmeralda Ugalde, Anette Cuburu, Cynthia Rodríguez, Linet Puente, Kristal Silva, and Tania Rincón, among other Mexican television personalities.
The Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo reported that Nataly Montserrat’s body showed no visible signs of violence, while investigations continue to clarify the circumstances of her death.
On social media, however, controversy arose over the absence of a public statement from El Capi Pérez regarding the loss facing his extended family. The controversy intensified after, during the Monday, December 29 broadcast of the program Venga La Alegría, no mention was made of the case and the host appeared on air with the morning show’s usual dynamics.
Users on digital platforms questioned this stance, noting that the topic was not addressed despite the family connection to the program. So far, it has not been confirmed whether recent broadcasts of Venga La Alegría correspond to pre-recorded or live programs, a situation that could be related to programming adjustments for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The family of Nataly Montserrat reiterated their request for respect during the mourning period and thanked the expressions of support received.
