Discover Cozumel’s Literary Secrets at FPMC Event

Cozumel, QRoo — The Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation (FPMC) has announced the presentation of the book Nolo: la historia de don Vicente Martín Güémez, by Cozumel-born writer Patricia Elena Sosa. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the Museo de la Isla.

The FPMC's Director General, Juanita Alonso Marrufo, emphasized that this type of activity strengthens the social fabric through culture, bringing the public closer to literary expressions that connect regional identity with universal themes.

She added that these actions align with the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, which promotes citizen participation and equitable access to culture.

The director of the museum center, Isela Carrillo Cupul, noted that the writer has trained in diverse areas of personal and artistic development, including diplomas in Emotional Intelligence, Positive Psychology, and Nutrition and Health. She has also studied painting, training with teachers such as Jorge Ocampo Batalla, Lilián Díaz Ramírez, and Minerva Mari Hadad.

She highlighted that Nolo: la historia de don Vicente Martín Güémez is a novel that takes place in the enigmatic town of the same name, located in the heart of Yucatán, where reality and legend intertwine to reveal secrets that challenge the imaginable through the memories and testimonies about Don Vicente.

The work invites readers to immerse themselves in a journey into the unknown, where encounters with beings of light, inherited astronomical knowledge, and inexplicable phenomena lead to a profound reflection on the connection of human beings with the cosmos and the spiritual.

The director of the Museo de la Isla, Isela Carrillo, reiterated the invitation to attend the literary evening at the Museo de la Isla on November 13 at 7:30 p.m., an emblematic space that continues to be a meeting point for the promotion of art, culture, history, and literature in Cozumel.
