Cozumel, Quintana Roo — Cozumel, one of Quintana Roo’s lesser-known tourist destinations, stands out for its tranquility and pristine beaches. Governor Mara Lezama recently shared new photographs on her social media accounts showcasing the island’s breathtaking, crystal-clear waters and sargassum-free shores as of June 25, 2025.

A Serene Escape from Bustling Tourist Hubs

Historically, women from across Quintana Roo would travel to Cozumel to pay tribute to Ixchel, the goddess of the moon, fertility, childbirth, and medicine.
