Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Mexico — With a municipal investment exceeding 26 million pesos, construction has commenced on the new public market in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, a historic project set to benefit the entire municipality and its communities.

Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, accompanied by Municipal President Mary Hernández, emphasized that this project addresses a long-standing demand from market vendors, who had waited years for the space's modernization. "It will soon be a reality and will allow the families of Felipe Carrillo Puerto to offer and acquire products with hygiene, comfort, and security," the Governor stated.

President Mary Hernández explained that the new market, which will cover more than 3,500 square meters, will become a central hub for daily life in the municipality. It will be a place to commercialize fruits, vegetables, and products from the countryside, as well as to enjoy homemade meals in a safe environment.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, it was emphasized that the work will be completed in an approximate period of 90 days, generating employment for the local population and utilizing materials from the region. "This is how we govern in this new form of government, hand in hand with the people and with the certainty that resources are returned to the community," the Governor underscored.

With this investment, Felipe Carrillo Puerto reinforces its local economy and advances the social and community transformation driven by the governments of the Fourth Transformation, promoting the active participation of women in public management.
