Free SIM Cards in Cancún: Get Yours Now

Cancún, Mexico — The Conecta Quintana Roo program, an initiative promoted by the state government, will distribute free SIM cards to registered beneficiaries in Cancún this week. The distribution event is scheduled for Thursday, October 9.

Location and Time for Chip Pickup

Residents of the Benito Juárez municipality who are enrolled in the program should go to the Unidad del Bienestar “Cancún 1,” located in Super Manzana 23, on Thursday, October 9, to receive their SIM card and maintain their connectivity.

Required Documentation for Receiving the Chip

To collect the SIM card in Cancún, beneficiaries must present the following documents:

  • The physical phone where the SIM card will be installed.
  • An original and a copy of their INE (Voter ID card).
  • A proof of address no older than three months.
  • The beneficiary proof sheet.

Benefits Included with the Conecta Quintana Roo Chip

According to the 2025 Operational Rules of the Conecta Quintana Roo Program, the benefit includes the following data package:

  • 1,500 minutes for national and international calls.
  • 1,000 text messages.
  • 15 GB of internet data.
  • Unlimited access to specific social media applications.

The connectivity package includes applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and X. Platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, Threads, and others are not included in the unlimited access; using them will consume the mobile data provided in the plan.
