Cancún Travel Mart 2026 Sets Sights on More Mexican Caribbean Business

Hotel and tourism leaders announce details of the 38th Cancún Travel Mart, set for Oct. 21-23, 2026, in Cancún, Mexico

Cancún, Quintana Roo — The 38th edition of the Cancún Travel Mart will introduce a series of changes aimed at strengthening commercial ties between buyers and sellers and broadening tourism promotion for Cancún, Isla Mujeres and the rest of the Mexican Caribbean, organizers said.

Rodrigo de la Peña Segura, president of the Hotel Association of Cancún, Puerto Morelos and the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres (AHCPM&IM), said the 2026 gathering is designed to reinforce its role as one of Mexico’s leading tourism marketing events and to keep connecting the region’s hotels with domestic and international source markets.

The event will combine business meetings, tourism promotion, experiential activities, innovation and sustainability, he added.

Carbon-Neutral Commitment Continues

On sustainability, organizers said the event will maintain its commitment to carbon-neutral certification, an initiative that has been one of the association’s core priorities since 2023 and will continue this year.

Last year’s edition generated an economic impact of $5.2 billion, up from $4.95 billion in 2024, according to figures cited by the association.

“The Mexican Caribbean shows strength and confidence in international markets,” De la Peña Segura said.

Eighteen countries have confirmed participation so far, including Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil and Colombia.

Golf Tournament Added for Networking

Liss Melo, vice president of the AHCPM&IM, said the new edition includes innovations intended to boost promotion of the Mexican Caribbean, widen participation by domestic and international buyers and create new business opportunities for the hotel and tourism industry.

Among the main additions is an 18-hole golf tournament, conceived as a space for buyers and sellers to meet and network. Organizers said the activity is meant to build more dynamic relationships among participants and make later commercial negotiations at the trade show easier.

The strategy responds to the need to keep strengthening marketing of the destination and to expand results ahead of the tourism goals set for 2027, with organizers expecting growth in both the number of buyers and the business deals generated during the event.

October Schedule

The agenda will begin on Oct. 21 with the golf tournament in the morning at the Iberostar golf course.

An awards ceremony and cocktail reception will follow at the Hilton hotel, where journalists, media outlets, tour operators and travel agents will get a firsthand look at part of the destination’s hotel offerings and experiences.

The program continues Oct. 22 and 23 with on-site business negotiations, and a closing press conference on Oct. 23 will present the main results achieved during the gathering.
