Cancún, Quintana Roo — A restaurant in downtown Cancún was searched during the night of Sept. 17 as part of an investigation into suspected human trafficking, authorities said.
The establishment, identified as La Pasadita, is located in Supermanzana 23, near the ADO bus terminal and close to Tulum Avenue.
Initial accounts of the case indicate the investigation centers on possible exploitation of underage women who allegedly worked at the site. Officials said those allegations must still be confirmed through the ongoing investigation.
Officers from multiple agencies took part in the operation and cordoned off the entrances to the property while the search was carried out.
So far, officials have not said whether anyone was detained, whether any victims were located, or whether any items were seized. Further details on the results of the raid were not immediately available.
