Cancun, Quintana Roo — Cancun is set to host the Cancun Fut Fest, a free public event at Malecon Tajamar featuring a giant screen for Mexico’s World Cup debut against South Africa on June 11, 2026.

The festival, organized by state and municipal authorities, aims to promote family togetherness, use of public spaces, and sports as a tool for social integration. Attendees can enjoy a mix of football, entertainment, local cuisine, and recreational activities for all ages.

Giant Screen and World Cup Atmosphere

The centerpiece of the event will be a large screen installed at Malecon Tajamar, broadcasting the opening ceremony and the match between Mexico and South Africa live. Organizers said the technological infrastructure is already in place to ensure high-quality viewing.

The event is open to both residents and tourists in Cancun during the tournament’s opening day.
