Cancún, Quintana Roo — The iconic Malecón Tajamar in Cancun will transform into a hub of international cuisine with the arrival of the Festa della Pizza, a gastronomic and cultural festival scheduled for July 31 to August 2.

The event kicks off immediately after the Cancun Fut Fest concludes, extending the city’s tourism and entertainment agenda.

Juan Pablo de Zulueta del Razo, Benito Juárez’s tourism secretary, announced that the festival is organized in close collaboration with Cancun’s sister city, Naples, Italy. The main goal is to revitalize public spaces and provide a family-friendly alternative after this year’s World Cup.

The festival draws inspiration from the renowned Naples Pizza Village, one of Europe’s largest culinary events, adapting its essence to a Caribbean lagoon setting.

De Zulueta del Razo highlighted that this initiative continues a strong cultural exchange program the municipality has promoted throughout the year. “We have held several events this year with sister cities, such as the Sea and Wine festival with Tijuana and Ensenada, and this time we are doing it with Naples,” he said, strengthening international ties through gastronomy.

In addition to top-tier culinary offerings, a digital call is open on social media to find the best pizza in Cancun, showcasing local pizza-making talent.

The gastronomic proposal will be complemented by a cultural lineup designed to blend the identities of both regions. There will be live music, theatrical performances, and various surprises. “It will be something we will enjoy; we are working to create a very Italian but Caribbean atmosphere,” the tourism secretary concluded, noting that Italian food is enjoyed by nearly 98% of people.
