Cancún, Mexico — With the goal of safeguarding public health and promoting responsible pet care, the General Directorate of Ecology and the Directorate of Animal Protection and Welfare have launched a free anti-rabies vaccination campaign for dogs and cats.

Under the slogan “Cancún unites us for transformation,” authorities invite citizens to take advantage of this service, which will take place during the second half of January at various locations throughout the city.

Schedule and Service Locations

The campaign will operate from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

  • January 15: Facilities of the Directorate of Animal Protection and Welfare.
  • January 16: Valle Verde neighborhood (located on the Main Avenue).
  • January 23: Tres Reyes neighborhood (reference point: next to the Michoacán Tortillería).

Important Requirements and Recommendations

To ensure the safety of attendees and the effectiveness of the vaccine, pet owners must strictly comply with the following guidelines:

  • Limited capacity: It is recommended to arrive early at the locations.
  • Safety control: The use of a carrier or leash is mandatory; for aggressive animals, the use of a muzzle is not optional.
  • Health status: Pets should not be pregnant or in the lactation period.
  • Physical conditions: It is requested not to bring animals that have been in the sun to avoid heatstroke or complications during the application.

This campaign represents a joint effort to keep Cancún as a rabies-free city, inviting all Cancún residents not to miss it and to ensure the well-being of their dogs and cats.
