Cyclist Executed in Cancún’s Casas del Mar

Cancún, Mexico — A man was executed on the night of Sunday, October 12, in the Casas del Mar subdivision in Supermanzana 248 of Cancún, prompting the mobilization of local authorities.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. when residents alerted the 911 emergency number after hearing several gunshots on Mar Caribe street. Upon going outside, they found the man lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds.

The first to arrive were elements of the Municipal Police, who cordoned off the area. Minutes later, paramedics from ERUM confirmed that the victim no longer showed any signs of life.

According to initial reports, the man, who was wearing athletic clothing, was riding a bicycle toward Avenida Los Tules when he was intercepted by armed subjects who fired repeatedly. Neighbors reported that the attack lasted only a few seconds, generating panic among those nearby. The bicycle was left next to the body as the assailants fled the scene.

Elements of the Secretary of Citizen Security guarded the area until the arrival of forensic experts and investigative agents from the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), who were responsible for processing the scene and removing the body.

The identity of the man executed in Casas Mar, as well as the motive for the attack, have not been revealed at this time. Authorities continue their investigations to locate those responsible and clarify the facts.

Cancún: Man Shot in La Guadalupana

Almost simultaneously, a man was wounded by a firearm projectile in the La Guadalupana subdivision in Supermanzana 216 of Cancún, after he allegedly went out to buy something at a store.

The attack occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. on 38th street and Río Uribe street, where it was reported that a man was lying wounded by a bullet. The man was transported to the General Hospital by ERUM paramedics with at least one gunshot wound to his left leg.

At this time, there is no information on the reason for the attack.
