CANCÚN, Mexico — The Benito Juárez City Council has announced the construction of an Animal Welfare Hospital, a pioneering project that will provide a specialized space for the care of pets and animals in vulnerable situations. This development marks a key moment for the city, consolidating the municipal government's commitment to animal protection and responding to an urgent need within the community.

The initiative seeks to guarantee dignified and professional treatment for animals, strengthening welfare policies in Cancún. Yamili Góngora, head of the Directorate of Animal Protection and Welfare, highlighted the significance of this project, describing it as a historic step for the city.

The project was carefully designed through multiple meetings between various city departments and council members, ensuring comprehensive planning that guarantees its correct operation and long-term sustainability.

The Animal Welfare Hospital will be located in Supermanzana 99, between López Portillo and Nichupté avenues. It will feature modern facilities that include consultation rooms, an operating theater, a recovery area, spaces dedicated to adoptions, and administrative areas.

This new space will not only provide quality veterinary medical care but will also promote responsible adoption and reinforce municipal actions in favor of animal protection and welfare, positioning Cancún as a benchmark in animal care.
