Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Mexican singer Bellakath drew a crowd of over 20,000 people to the opening concert of the Playa del Carmen Carnival 2026 on Saturday night, performing at the Plaza 28 de Julio in a free event that featured music, youth culture, and high-level entertainment.
The artist energized the main stage with her popular hits like “Gatita,” “Reggaetón Champagne,” and “Los Quiero a Todos,” transforming the plaza into a massive collective dance floor. Local youth and a mix of domestic and international tourists vibrated to the music throughout the night.
The day’s program also included the traditional parade of floats, accompanied by dance troupes that marched through Playa del Carmen’s main downtown avenues, filling the tourist hub’s heart with color, rhythm, and creativity.
Simultaneously, local urban artists performed at the plaza’s open-air amphitheater, supporting emerging regional talent. The stage pulsed with reggaetón beats from RedMafia and Sofía Alegría, who got the audience dancing and singing with a Caribbean rhythm-filled show.
Other performers included Adel Arano, Son FM307, Magnate 77, and Cowe, who captivated the crowd with alternative rhythms.
The Playa del Carmen Carnival 2026 lineup also features Santa Fe Klan on February 15 and NSQK on February 16. The event concludes on February 17 with the “90’s Pop Tour” show, bringing together artists like Kabah, JNS, Erik Rubín, Kalimba, Caló, Magneto, Mercurio, and The Sacados, among other figures who defined a generation.
