Avianca Ends Bogotá-Tulum Flights Over Low Demand

Tulum, Mexico — Colombian airline Avianca has announced the suspension of its Bogotá-Tulum-Bogotá route, effective July 1, 2025. The route, which was inaugurated in December 2024, will be discontinued primarily due to low passenger demand.

Alternative Travel Options Remain Available

Travelers wishing to visit Tulum can still opt for Avianca’s Bogotá-Cancún-Bogotá route, followed by a two-hour ground transfer to Tulum. The airline emphasized that this alternative provides continued access to the popular Mexican destination.

No further details were provided regarding potential future reinstatements of the suspended route. The decision marks a setback for Tulum’s connectivity with Colombia, less than a year after the route’s launch.
