Cancún, Mexico — In the early hours of November 2, authorities conducted a raid on the bar "Tikin-xic," located in the irregular settlement of Valle Verde in Cancún. The operation followed multiple citizen complaints regarding loud music, public disorder, traffic issues, and alleged prostitution in the area. The establishment was subsequently shut down, though the execution of the operation was marked by questions about its procedures.
According to on-site records, the procedure was carried out practically in darkness and without the usual protocol. Ministerial and military personnel allowed the exit of clients, bar staff, and women who were allegedly engaged in prostitution, without their detention or being turned over for investigation. The closure seals were placed on the premises while several attendees were still leaving the building.
Neighbors stated that since its opening, the venue had disrupted the community's peace with loud music until the early hours, poorly parked cars, intoxicated individuals urinating in public streets, and brawls.
Police sources indicated that the business owner is believed to be connected to other establishments categorized as "black market businesses," including a recently raided bar called Las Palmas and a clandestine racing track.
As of now, the State Attorney General's Office has not reported any seizures or arrests resulting from this operation.
Residents of Valle Verde have requested that authorities maintain permanent surveillance to prevent the establishment from reopening or new conflict points from emerging in the area.
