FGE Quintana Roo captures priority target from Criminal Atlas

The Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office announced that a joint security operation resulted in the detention of two individuals, including a priority target from the Quintana Roo Criminal Atlas, as well as the seizure of drugs, a firearm, cash, and a luxury vehicle.

Interinstitutional Operation Reinforces Security in Cancún

According to the FGE, the events occurred during a prevention and surveillance patrol conducted by authorities from the Interinstitutional Group on Kukulcán Boulevard at kilometer 4.5 in the municipality of Benito Juárez.

At the site, a vehicle was intercepted carrying José Rafael “N,” alias “El Dóber,” and Valeria Teresita “N,” identified as Arelia “N,” who were subjected to a security check.

During the inspection, officers located doses of green and dry vegetation with characteristics of marijuana, as well as white powder similar to cocaine. Additionally, they seized a handgun-type firearm, magazines loaded with cartridges, 213,370 Mexican pesos and 5,300 US dollars, plus a 2017 RAM 2500 vehicle, which was also placed under the authority’s custody.

The Attorney General’s Office emphasized that “El Dóber” is considered a priority target and alleged member of a criminal group generating violence in the municipality of Benito Juárez.

The two detained individuals, along with the secured evidence, were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status within the corresponding constitutional timeframe.

The Quintana Roo FGE reiterated its commitment to combating crimes against health and drug trafficking through coordinated actions between the three levels of government, adhering to due process and legality.
