Cancún, Quintana Roo — Investigative police from the State Attorney General’s Office, accompanied by the National Guard, executed a search warrant at the Teresita bar located on Avenida 127 in Supermanzana 10. The operation took place around 1:00 a.m. yesterday, with authorities arriving at the establishment near Avenida José López Portillo.
Operation Details
Officers surprised patrons, some of whom were reportedly intoxicated, and after conducting searches and settling their bills, allowed them to leave so investigative work could proceed. Meanwhile, women working at the bar were detained and taken to the prosecutor’s office to provide statements. Authorities stated this measure was taken to ensure they could receive legal assistance if they were victims of sexual exploitation.
The area remained under surveillance by National Guard personnel, who restricted access to safeguard the integrity of forensic experts working inside the premises. Following the operation, the establishment was secured by state authorities pending further investigation.
Rescued Women and Evidence
A total of 15 women were rescued—14 of Mexican nationality and one Colombian—who were employed at the bar. Reports indicate they charged 600 pesos per cocktail and 250 pesos per beer, with the establishment taking a 50% commission. Sexual services reportedly cost between 500 and 1,000 pesos.
Authorities seized evidence including consumption receipts, notebooks documenting payments to the women, condoms, and women’s underwear, among other items. These were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to be included in the corresponding case files.
At the conclusion of the operation, authorities placed seizure seals on the establishment, which remains under the custody of the State Attorney General’s Office.
