Isla Mujeres, Mexico — The Hotel Almare, a Luxury Collection Resort, Isla Mujeres, celebrated its first anniversary with a cultural convergence event that united ancestral Mayan energy with refined Japanese tradition. The evening, titled "A Sacred Cycle," took place on Saturday, October 25, at the resort's Seasalt Rooftop, with the presence of recognized chefs, artists, and visitors who enjoyed a sensory experience facing the Caribbean Sea.

The celebration began with the inauguration of the "Alma de Jaguar" exhibition by muralist Nadia Trujillo, the artist in residence for Isla Mujeres, who presented 15 works honoring the jaguar, the sacred guardian of nature, as a symbol of strength, mystery, and ancestral connection.

Later, Japanese chef Yusuke Kogure, a pioneer of the tuna ronqueo ceremony in Mexico and owner of the KOGURE restaurants in Cancún, Tulum, and Mérida, led a demonstration of this traditional Japanese practice, showcasing the respect and precision that characterize high Japanese cuisine.

Subsequently, attendees enjoyed a gastronomic experience that brought together distinguished culinary exponents. Among them were Martín Arellano, chef of Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort, Los Cabos, who represented the restaurant Al Pairo, recommended in the MICHELIN Guide 2025; Xavier Pérez, chef of Axiote, Cocina de México, listed in the MICHELIN Guide 2024; and Cristian Mendoza, executive chef of Almare, host of the evening and leader of the resort's culinary proposal, accompanied by pastry chef Nicolás Sánchez, creator of high-level pastry experiences.

Mixology also played a central role, led by Noé Morgan, ambassador for the Grupo Campari portfolio, and Alan Soriano, beverage manager and mixologist for Almare, who presented cocktails inspired by the natural elements of the island.

The musical atmosphere was curated by Mahamantra-Neran, resident DJ of Azulik Tulum, who accompanied the experience with a set that evoked the spiritual energy of the Caribbean.

"A Sacred Cycle" commemorated the first year of Almare as a member of The Luxury Collection, while also showcasing the resort's identity as a refuge that celebrates local culture, art, and cutting-edge gastronomy in one of the most emblematic landscapes of the Mexican Caribbean.
