Cadu Employee Killed in Playa del Carmen; 2 Arrested

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A man, allegedly employed by the company Cadu, was executed on Monday afternoon in the Villas del Sol neighborhood.

Details of the Incident

The attack occurred around 5 p.m. while the victim was walking on Jilgueros Street, near CTM Avenue, close to the third park of the subdivision located in the northwestern part of the city.

Initial reports indicate that assailants traveling in a black Jetta carried out the armed attack. Police immediately launched an intensive pursuit operation, which concluded on Palma Guinea Street in the Palmas 2 subdivision. Authorities first located the abandoned Jetta before apprehending two suspects as they attempted to switch vehicles to evade capture.

Ongoing Manhunt

At least one additional suspect remains at large, prompting a continued police presence in the nearby In House subdivision.

Paramedics from the Red Cross arrived at the scene and confirmed the victim showed no signs of life. Forensic personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office later transported the body to the morgue for further examination.

Background on the Victim

Unofficial sources suggest the deceased was among five individuals detained three days prior by municipal police for allegedly carrying weapons at a Cadu construction site.

The investigation remains ongoing.
