Mexico City — Viva Aerobus will launch nonstop flights between Acapulco and Cancun on Nov. 3, restoring direct air service between the two beach destinations for the winter season.
Bernardo Cueto Riestra, Quintana Roo’s tourism secretary, and Simón Quiñones Orozco, Guerrero’s tourism secretary, announced that the new service will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with an estimated flight time of two hours.
Quiñones Orozco said the connection strengthens the link between two of Mexico’s leading beach destinations and will make it easier for travelers to move between the Pacific resort city and the Mexican Caribbean during the winter months.
Cueto Riestra said the return of Viva Aerobus to the route will bring more visitors to Quintana Roo and expand options for travelers who want to combine both destinations in a single trip.
The route is expected to boost air connectivity for the Mexican Caribbean and encourage greater tourism exchange between Guerrero and Quintana Roo ahead of one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
