Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Attorney General's Office of the State of Quintana Roo has issued a missing persons bulletin to locate Rodrigo Vázquez Coutiño, known as "El Patriota," an activist and former aspirant for the municipal presidency of Benito Juárez. He has been reported missing since August 27 in Guadalajara.
Vázquez Coutiño, a 45-year-old businessman from Cancún, was last seen over a week ago. His sudden absence and lack of communication have generated concern among his family and friends.
Political Background and Distinctive Markings
The activist was notable for his attempt to run for the municipal presidency of Benito Juárez, initially under the Movimiento Ciudadano party and later as an independent candidate. Despite having collected the necessary number of signatures for his registration, his candidacy was rejected by the Electoral Institute of Quintana Roo (Ieqroo) due to the invalidity of some signatures, leaving him just one percent short of the required goal.
According to the bulletin issued by the Attorney General's Office, Vázquez Coutiño has a distinctive tattoo on his right arm depicting a fleur-de-lis with the word "Patriota."
Authorities Seek Public Assistance
Authorities have requested the public's collaboration with any information that could help locate the activist and clarify his whereabouts. The investigation is ongoing but has so far yielded no significant breakthroughs. The cooperation of the population is urged to help find him.
