Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A tragic incident this afternoon shocked residents of the Los Pájaros neighborhood, where a man murdered his intimate partner with machete blows and subsequently took his own life.
According to testimonies from neighbors, the homicide occurred following a heated argument when the aggressor, allegedly in a state of intoxication, attacked the victim with a machete, inflicting serious wounds to her arms, head, and thorax.
Faced with the urgency of the situation, citizens decided not to wait for an ambulance and transported the injured woman in a taxi from the "Lázaro Cárdenas del Río" union to the General Hospital. Despite these efforts, the victim, who entered the medical center alive, died minutes later due to the severity of her injuries.
After committing the crime, the aggressor chose to hang himself from a tree, as witnesses recounted. When Municipal Police officers arrived at the scene, they found him already deceased.
Local authorities have initiated corresponding investigations to clarify the details of this lamentable case.
