Tulum, Quintana Roo — The municipal government of Tulum has introduced new emergency contact numbers to streamline emergency response efforts and provide residents with quicker assistance during crises. The updated system, now fully operational, allows reports to be made via traditional phone calls or WhatsApp messages.
Enhanced Emergency Reporting System
The initiative aims to modernize emergency services by ensuring efficient coordination between response teams. Residents can now use the following contact details to report incidents:
- WhatsApp: 990 196 6116
- Phone Calls: 984 871 2688
Municipal personnel will manage incoming reports, directing them to the appropriate agencies—including the Public Security Secretariat, Civil Protection, Red Cross, Fire Department, and local government offices. While the national emergency number 911 remains active, officials emphasize that the new lines will facilitate faster intervention.
Types of Emergencies Covered
The updated system is designed to address a wide range of emergencies, including but not limited to:
- Gas leaks
- Accidents
- Fires
- Floods
- Robberies
- Homicides
- Fallen trees
- Landslides
- Earthquakes
- Medical emergencies
Authorities have warned that any refusal to provide assistance or unauthorized charges for emergency services constitutes a violation of citizens' rights and should be reported immediately.
Strengthening Public Safety
The rollout of these dedicated emergency lines aligns with broader security measures implemented by the Tulum government. Officials stress that the system will improve response times and enable more precise tracking of emergency interventions.
Residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new numbers to ensure swift access to assistance during critical situations.
