Tulum, Quintana Roo — A raid on a bar in central Tulum led to the rescue of 15 Mexican women who were allegedly victims of sexual exploitation. The operation took place at a property located on 2 Poniente Street at Géminis Norte.
Investigation Reveals Exploitative Conditions
Authorities discovered that the women were providing services for fees ranging between 500 and 1,000 pesos, of which 50% was withheld by the bar. Additionally, they were charged 100 pesos for the use of rooms.
During the search, six rooms adapted for commercial sex were found, along with evidence supporting the operation of a prostitution network.
Weeks of Surveillance Lead to Raid
The operation, the result of weeks of surveillance, resulted in the seizure of the property and the collection of forensic evidence. The rescued women were placed under the care of institutions providing medical, psychological, and legal support.
