Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena has announced the commencement of the Mayan Renaissance, a transformation that will be experienced in the streets, schools, hospitals, countryside, and businesses of Yucatan.
Governor Díaz Mena recently unveiled the State Development Plan Mayan Renaissance 2024-2030. This plan, built on the principles of justice and equality, was created after listening to the voices of the Yucatecans. The Governor emphasized that the plan is not merely a list of promises or actions, but a path shaped by the voice of the people. It serves as a tool to address social inequalities at their roots and to bridge the divide between the haves and have-nots.
The Governor stressed that this plan is not based on unsupported good intentions or improvisations. Instead, it's a strategic management model designed for effectiveness, efficiency, honesty, and social legitimacy. It involves responsible planning, proper resource allocation, and high-value social actions that will transform the reality of Yucatan.
At the announcement, which was attended by representatives from all sectors of society, three levels of government, and the Armed Forces, Governor Díaz Mena encouraged public servants to embrace the vision and principles of the Mayan Renaissance. He urged representatives from all levels of government and branches of the state to work together, fostering cooperation and trust, as the transformation will be achieved through teamwork.
The Governor also called on all Yucatecans to reject the pessimistic claims of naysayers. He emphasized that the people of Yucatan are the ones who truly desire a prosperous, secure Yucatan with well-being for all.
The State Development Plan 2024-2030 includes seven guidelines: an Honest, Humanist Government Close to the People; Social Welfare for Everyone's Health; Education, Culture and Sports as Pillars of the Renaissance; Economy with Shared Prosperity and Rescue of the Countryside; Infrastructure for an Ordered and Sustainable Territorial Development; Justice, Citizen Security and Culture of Peace; and Mayan People, Root and Reason for Being.
Governor Díaz Mena underscored that the State Development Plan represents a new way of governing – from the people, with the people, and for the people. This document captures the people's desire for change and the commitments made to them, which will be fulfilled, he affirmed.
