Zacatlán, Puebla — The state of Yucatán reaffirmed its leadership as a nature destination during its prominent participation in the 15th Adventure Tourism Fair (ATMEX), held in the Magical Town of Zacatlán de las Manzanas, Puebla, a key meeting for the sector at the national and international level.
The Yucatán delegation, comprised of 22 representatives from companies, associations, agencies, and tourism service providers, presented a wide range of sustainable experiences. These included tours of sacred cenotes, zip lines with views of the Mayan jungle, cave rappelling, hiking, bird watching, cyclotourism, and inclusive activities for people with motor disabilities.
During the fair, the committee held more than 40 business meetings and participated in a hospitality table to promote the state's attractions, strengthening the connection between destinations, providers, and sector specialists.
Adventure and nature tourism currently represents 40% of global tourism and generated 1.6 trillion dollars in sales in 2024, according to UN Tourism. Within this framework, Yucatán's participation in ATMEX reinforces its commitment to diversifying its tourism offerings and promoting authentic, inclusive, and sustainable experiences that contribute to the development of local communities.
