Yucatán, Mexico — In 2025, gasoline prices in Mérida and other municipalities of Yucatán have shown a sustained trend of stability, with minimal variations that keep the entity among the most competitive regions in the country in terms of fuels.
The monitoring reports from Profeco’s “Who’s Who in Gasoline Prices” place Yucatán as one of the southeastern zones where the cost per liter has remained moderate. Stations located in municipalities such as Umán and Kanasín are among those offering the most accessible rates for both regular and Premium gasoline, especially compared to other states.
Price Ranges During the Year
Information from PetroIntelligence indicates that during the different periods of 2025, average prices have fluctuated as follows:
- Regular gasoline: between 23.79 and 23.93 pesos per liter
- Premium gasoline: between 25.28 and 25.78 pesos per liter
- Diesel: between 26.36 and 27.09 pesos per liter
These values have allowed Yucatán to remain below national averages, even during weeks when other regions experienced greater volatility.
Regular Below 24 Pesos
Profeco has noted that a growing number of stations in the country have managed to offer regular gasoline at less than 24 pesos per liter, a trend that is also reflected in Yucatán. At local stations, approximate prices of 23.39 pesos for regular and around 23.92 pesos for Premium have been observed, especially at sales points in Mérida, Umán, and Kanasín.
Stability Despite Fiscal Adjustments
Unlike previous years with more marked fluctuations, the behavior of fuels in Yucatán has been more controlled, even when in 2025 adjustments to the IEPS were applied that generally exert upward pressure on the final price. This relative stability has benefited motorists, transportation companies, and families in the state.
Continuous Supervision
Profeco maintains permanent monitoring through its weekly reports, which allows consumers to identify stations with competitive prices and ensures that no unjustified increases or abusive practices are recorded in the market.
