Mérida, Yucatan — The Yucatan International Book Fair (FILEY) will return for its fourteenth edition from March 14 to 22, 2026, at the Yucatan Siglo XXI Convention and Exhibition Center in Mérida, featuring over 700 activities designed to promote reading and cultural exchange.
Under the theme “Reading Peninsulas,” the 2026 fair aims to highlight the connection between the Yucatan Peninsula and the Baja California Peninsula, with the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) serving as the guest of honor. The university will host its own pavilion with cultural presentations, workshops, exhibitions, and special programming.
The event will include book presentations, discussion panels, conferences, specialized workshops, artistic activities, and reading promotion spaces. More than 500 publishing imprints and approximately 10,000 titles will be available for visitors.
Highlights of the fair include the José Emilio Pacheco Excellence in Letters Award, recognizing notable literary figures, and the Cultural Journalism Meeting, which will bring together media and communication specialists. The program also features exhibitions, stage performances, film cycles, and other artistic events.
Organizers expect the fair to attract a large audience of students, teachers, researchers, families, and reading enthusiasts, reinforcing Mérida’s role as a national cultural and literary hub.
