Motorcyclist Ambushed in Cancún’s El Pedregal

Cancún, Mexico — A young man lost his life after being attacked by two individuals while riding his motorcycle in the Supermanzana 530 district of Cancún on Saturday afternoon.

The latest act of violence shook the El Pedregal neighborhood, where the victim was shot and killed while traveling on his motorcycle. According to witnesses, the victim was ambushed by two individuals on a motorcycle who pursued him and opened fire on Mármol Street, right at the corner with Caliza Street.

Despite attempting to flee and take refuge in his home, located just meters from the attack site, he was struck by the bullets and fell gravely wounded on a dirt path. Neighbors alerted the authorities after hearing the detonations.

Witnesses stated that the assailants quickly escaped toward Nichupté Avenue, prompting a search operation by Municipal and State Police officers. However, no arrests have been reported.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene could only confirm that the young man no longer showed any vital signs. The area was secured by authorities to allow for the work of forensic personnel, who, under the supervision of the State Attorney General's Office, carried out the removal of the body and conducted corresponding investigations.

Although the identity of the deceased has not been officially released, initial lines of investigation point to a direct attack, allegedly related to a settling of scores.
