Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Brizeidy N, implicated in the case of the Xibalbá pet crematorium in Chetumal, has obtained a suspension that allows her to access house arrest, as she claimed to be breastfeeding her newborn baby.
In a second injunction requested, the defendant accused of fraud and environmental crimes in the Xibalbá crematorium case obtained the measure in her favor.
“Effect for which the requested suspension regarding house arrest is intended. The complaining party requests the provisional suspension and in due course the definitive suspension of the challenged act for the purpose that (…) she remains at the disposal of the District Judge with the effects of house arrest,” reads the judicial agreement of the indirect amparo trial 1055/2025 of the Sixth District Court.
In this same agreement, the federal judge of the same judicial body adds: “The provisional suspension is granted for the purpose that the criminal process continues until the intermediate stage is concluded.”
This is not definitive, as the measure will have to be ratified in the following days by the Sixth District Judge of the Quintana Roo capital, in order to determine the continuity of the house arrest until the next stage of the criminal process begins.
Brizeidy N shares the accusation with Alejandro N, the latter being pointed out as the main orchestrator of the Xibalbá crematorium fraud because he is attributed as the owner of the business.
Alejandro N, according to official information issued at the time by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo, is also accused of usurpation of functions, as he pretended to be a veterinarian without having a professional license to practice.
The case was revealed last October, when clients of the Xibalbá crematorium reported that they were given common soil instead of their pets’ ashes.
Meters away, near the establishment, skeletal remains of the pets were discovered, some still in a state of putrefaction, stuffed in bags.
