CHETUMAL — Security sources have confirmed that two men whose bodies were discovered near the Maya Train tracks were executed by being shot in the head, a method known as a "coup de grâce." The double homicide occurred in the community of Subteniente López.

A Direct Execution

The two victims were found on Friday morning in an isolated area near the railway infrastructure. The discovery prompted a large-scale deployment of federal and state security forces to the scene.

According to initial forensic findings, the remains have been preliminarily identified. One victim was named Juan "N", approximately 50 years old. The second victim was identified as Andrés "N", approximately 27 years old.

Autopsy Confirms Violent Attack

Autopsy reports conclusively established the cause of death for both individuals as severe head trauma caused by a gunshot wound. These findings confirm the deaths resulted from a direct and violent attack, ruling out other causes. The evidence reinforces the hypothesis of an execution linked to criminal activity.

As previously reported, a message signed by a criminal group was found next to the bodies. The message issued warnings against alleged extortionists in the region.

The State Attorney General's Office is currently pursuing several lines of investigation. Authorities are working to clarify the motive for the double homicide and to determine if the victims had any connection to the accusations made in the message left at the scene.
