Venezuelans in Mexico Celebrate Maduro Detention

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A large group of more than 100 Venezuelan citizens gathered at Plaza 28 de Julio, in front of the Municipal Palace of Playa del Carmen, to celebrate the detention of Nicolás Maduro and the end of his regime, an event that marked a historic day for their country.

Mass Held Followed by Vehicle Caravan

Prior to the gathering, the Venezuelan community convened for a mass. After the homily concluded, the contingent mobilized in a vehicle caravan to the public square, where they held a peaceful demonstration and expressed their support for the intervention by the United States government, which led to the detention of the Venezuelan leader.

The mobilization took place after the detention of Nicolás Maduro was officially confirmed during the morning, news that generated reactions of jubilation among Venezuelans residing in this city, who carried flags, chanted slogans, and shared messages of hope for a new era for Venezuela.

The event proceeded without incident and concluded in an orderly manner, under the observation of local authorities.
