Two Arrested, Possible Drugs Seized in Cancun Raids

Cancun, Quintana Roo — Two people were arrested and possible narcotics were seized during raids on two properties in Cancun, the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office said.

The searches were carried out with support from the Mexican Army, the Mexican Navy and the National Guard as part of an investigation into drug dealing.

Raids Yield Drug Evidence

At a home in the El Cedro neighborhood, in Superblock 243, officers detained Richard Jhovany “N” and Christopher de Jesús “N”. There they seized papers with notes, dried green plant material resembling marijuana, and white solid fragments.

A subsequent search took place at a residence on Guillermo Primero street, between Cecilio Chi and Vicente Suárez avenues, in the Paseos Kabah residential area, Superblock 223. There officers found digital scales, dried green plant material, and transparent solid material.

Properties Under Guard

After the searches, prosecutors sealed both properties and placed them under official protection. The seized evidence and the two suspects were turned over to the appropriate authorities, who will determine their legal status within the constitutional time limit.

The prosecutor’s office said the actions are part of ongoing investigations into possible drug sales in Benito Juárez, the municipality that includes Cancun.
