Tulum, Quintana Roo — Tulum will host an international boxing card featuring fighters from Mexico and abroad, as part of a strategy to promote the sport and position the municipality as a venue for global sporting events.
Promoter Rodrigo López, known as “La Avispa,” announced that the event will bring together competitors from various national gyms, as well as from countries including Argentina, England, and Italy.
Local Boxing Boost
The organizer emphasized that the event aims to strengthen boxing’s presence in the municipality, where an increasing number of young athletes seek opportunities to compete and develop in the discipline.
He also acknowledged the support of the Tulum City Council and the collaboration of trainers and gyms that made the event possible.
Card with International Bouts
The card includes fights across various weight classes, featuring matchups between local, national, and international fighters.
Highlighted bouts include:
- Caleb Cartagena vs Rolando Burgos (90 kg)
- Maubel Oropesa vs Iván Valencia (65 kg)
- Fabián Oropesa vs Heider Emanuel
- Daniel “El Güerito” Ávila vs Jonathan Martínez (61 kg)
- Esmeralda Fantasía (Mexico) vs Diana Murúa Barrera (Argentina)
- Karely Jam vs Asia Rayar (Italy)
The card also includes four-round bouts such as Óscar “El Legendario” Balcázar against Abisaí Talibán Palomo, and a welterweight duel between Martino Jaime Tomás (Argentina) and Víctor Torres.
One of the most notable international matchups will feature Pablo Guerrero Maya Petch against Brian “Rocky” Gruder of England in the 90-kilogram division.
Sports Projection for the Municipality
The card seeks to establish Tulum as a hub for international boxing while creating opportunities for new talents aiming to advance professionally.
The event will bring together trainers, sports commissions, and fans for a day combining sport, entertainment, and promotion of local talent.
