Tulum, Quintana Roo — Municipal President Diego Castañón conducted a roll call this Thursday with elements of Tulum’s Public Safety and Citizen Protection.
During the event, Diego Castañón recognized the work and service vocation of the personnel, highlighting that their commitment, discipline, and integrity are key for Tulum to continue advancing and for residents and visitors to feel protected.
“I am clear that legality, respect, and honesty are the only path. In this administration, there is no space for practices that betray the people’s trust,” he declared.
The Municipal President affirmed that his government will continue strengthening a corporation close to the citizenry, with firm principles and the responsibility to serve and protect the municipality. “Tulum deserves peace, order, and a government that is up to the level of its people,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen trust among the population and tourism so that each visitor takes away a complete, pleasant experience, which will only be possible through actions that reflect commitment and integrity in every act.
“We represent an honorable institution, and as such must be our conduct every time we go out to serve the population and tourism. Because that is our obligation, to serve and protect. Your uniforms represent that, the love for our municipality,” he concluded.
The Secretary of Public Safety and Citizen Protection, Edgar Aguilar Rico, indicated that thanks to interinstitutional work at the close of 2025, a decrease in high-impact crimes was recorded, as at the state level Tulum represents only 3.7% of the total, in addition to a 61.7% decrease in homicides.
He said this has allowed Tulum to be removed nationally from the list of the 50 priority municipalities for high-impact homicides, reflecting in real results the work carried out, which, by instruction of President Diego Castañón Trejo, will not let its guard down in order to continue firm in protecting the population and tourists.
