Tulum's Mayor, Diego Castañón Trejo, has spearheaded the official commencement of the Safe Summer Operation 2024. This initiative will see preventive corporations from local, state, and federal government levels working together.
Before the launch, Mayor Castañón highlighted that Tulum is among the top 10 most visited places globally. As such, the operation's primary goal is to ensure that every tourist and family can enjoy a safe, reliable, and pleasant vacation, and return home safely.
"We want all tourists to feel safe and cared for by their authorities. This includes the National Guard, Marina, State and Municipal Police, and of course, Civil Protection. All are working together to uphold Tulum's reputation as a safe vacation spot. Families can trust that Tulum is a reliable place to spend their holidays," said Mayor Castañón.
Juan Manuel Castilla, the General Director of Civil Protection and Firefighters, emphasized that the operation's goal is to address every social report. The aim is to maintain a clean record by the end of the operation, as directed by the State Governor, Mara Lezama Espinosa, and Mayor Castañón.
In addition to these preventive and protective measures, emergency services and security corporations from all three government levels will intensify their operations.
