Tulum, Quintana Roo — Tulum’s Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat) team has intensified cleanup and maintenance operations along the destination’s busiest coastal areas.
The work crews began their activities early in the morning at strategic points connecting to the Caribbean Sea, aiming to maintain the area’s tourist appeal and protect local ecosystems.
Current efforts focus on critical areas including Playa del Pueblo, Punta Piedra, Pez, and Conchita, where workers are collecting debris and improving beach access points.
Authorities also reported significant progress in the CCC zone as part of daily operations designed to reduce the impact of solid waste and other materials on the shoreline.
The Tulum municipal government has deployed specialized equipment and secured institutional support from the Mexican Navy to enhance the efficiency of these operations.
Navy personnel are playing a crucial role at Pescadores and Santa Fe beaches, where coordinated actions are enabling more thorough and rapid coastal cleaning.
