Trailer Crash Causes Major Traffic Chaos on Puerto Morelos-Cancun Highway

Two damaged tractor-trailers blocking part of Highway 307 after a collision near Bahia Petempich, Puerto Morelos

Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — A collision between two tractor-trailers, one a double-trailer, caused severe traffic disruptions Monday morning on the Puerto Morelos-Cancun stretch of Federal Highway 307.

The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. near Bahia Petempich in the south-to-north lanes. According to preliminary reports, the driver of one of the trucks attempted to make a U-turn without noticing the other trailer approaching from behind, leading to the impact.

Both heavy vehicles partially blocked the highway, creating long lines of vehicles that crept through the area. Traffic was snarled for just over an hour until transit officers arrived to clear the scene and remove the trucks.

Despite the force of the collision, authorities reported no injuries.
