Two Minors and Elderly Man Missing in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Three people have been reported missing in the municipality of Playa del Carmen, including two minors and an elderly adult, prompting the State Attorney General’s Office to activate the corresponding search protocols and files for their location.

According to official information, one of the cases involves Sonia Elizabeth Pérez Mendoza, a 15-year-old minor who was last seen on September 29, 2025, in Playa del Carmen.

After confirming her non-location, the Attorney General’s Office activated the Alba Protocol and the Amber Alert to reinforce search and dissemination actions.

In this case, the complaint for her disappearance was filed four months after the date she was last seen.

The formal complaint was registered on January 29, 2026, the date on which the official search files were issued, without the authorities specifying the reason for the delay in the report.

According to the location file, Sonia Elizabeth Pérez Mendoza is of Guatemalan nationality, has light brown skin, a slim build, straight black long hair, brown eyes, an approximate height of 1.55 meters, and a weight close to 40 kilograms.

She has no distinguishing marks. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black sweater, gray shorts, and purple sandals. She remains unlocated at this time.

In a separate incident, the search file for Feliciano Pérez Rodríguez, a 59-year-old man last seen on January 24, 2026, in the same municipality, also remains active.

The complaint for his disappearance was filed on January 29, 2026, with the State Attorney General’s Office.

According to his file, Feliciano Pérez Rodríguez is of Mexican nationality, has light brown skin, a slim build, black eyes, short, gray, and wavy hair, an approximate height of 1.50 meters, and an estimated weight of 62 kilograms.

He has a scar on his face as a distinguishing mark. The clothing he was wearing at the time of his disappearance is unknown.

To these cases is added the disappearance of Rubi Alexandra López Dzul, a 14-year-old minor who was last seen on January 29, 2026, in Playa del Carmen.

The corresponding complaint was filed one day later, on January 30, 2026, which led to the activation of the Alba Protocol and the Amber Alert for her location.

According to the file issued by the Attorney General’s Office, Rubi Alexandra López Dzul is of Mexican nationality, has brown skin, a slim build, straight black hair at shoulder length, dark brown eyes, an approximate height of 1.48 meters, and a weight close to 52 kilograms.

She has a scar on the left side of her forehead as a distinguishing mark. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a white long-sleeved blouse, denim shorts, and white sneakers.

The State Attorney General’s Office reported that the three search files remain in effect and that investigations remain open, so the public’s support is requested to provide any information that may contribute to locating the persons reported missing.
