Three individuals were arrested in Playa del Carmen by the Solidaridad Municipal Police after being found in possession of a firearm and several doses of methamphetamine. The arrests occurred following a report to the 911 emergency number about an armed individual in the Las Torres neighborhood.
Upon arriving at the scene, the police spotted three individuals fitting the reported description, who appeared to be exchanging drugs. The suspects attempted to flee when they noticed the police, but were quickly apprehended.
The individuals, identified as 29-year-old Iván from Colima, 30-year-old Eduardo from Chiapas, and 25-year-old José from Tabasco, were found to be carrying a loaded firearm with four live rounds. Additionally, they had 28 packages containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Following their arrest, the trio was handed over to the State Attorney General's Office. Their legal status is currently being determined.
