Tulum Drug Bust: Military Weapons Seized

Tulum, Mexico — The Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE), in collaboration with the Tulum Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat, has arrested three men in flagrante delicto for their alleged involvement in the crime of drug dealing. The individuals were captured in the coastal zone in possession of various drugs and weapons for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.

The detainees were identified as Rosendo Julián "N", Kevin Miguel "N", and José Alejandro "N". The arrest occurred on the Tulum-Boca Paila highway, at kilometer 5.9, after agents from the Investigative Police and municipal police observed the subjects exchanging possible narcotics.

Following a routine inspection, the detainees were found to be in possession of doses of green and dry herb similar to marijuana, and granulated powder with the characteristics of the drug known as crystal. In addition to the narcotics, authorities seized two short firearms and one long firearm, along with supplied magazines and usable cartridges.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the three detainees are alleged members of a criminal group responsible for generating violence, dedicated to the sale of drugs in the Tulum municipality.

Rosendo Julián "N", Kevin Miguel "N", and José Alejandro "N", along with the seized evidence, were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the authority that will determine their legal status within the constitutional term.
