Police officers at a school in Benito Juárez where a teacher was arrested

Benito Juárez, Mexico City — A high school teacher was arrested after authorities received a report that he had recorded female students on his cell phone without their consent.

Police officers from the Mexico City Public Security Department responded to the complaint filed by the school’s legal representative. The incident occurred at a school located on Mier y Pesado streets in the Del Valle Norte neighborhood.

Officers quickly detained the 52-year-old teacher upon arriving at the campus after multiple people directly identified him as the suspect.

The teacher was later transferred to the State Prosecutor’s Office, where officials will determine his legal status.

Colegio del Valle issued a statement saying that on March 18, the teacher was observed engaging in actions that violated school regulations, leading to his dismissal and handover to authorities.

The school emphasized that it would not interfere with the legal proceedings against the teacher.
