Taxi and Car Collision Leaves Four Injured on Cancun’s Bonampak Avenue

Cancun, Quintana Roo — A collision between a taxi and a private car left four people injured on Bonampak Avenue on Thursday morning, prompting a major emergency response.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Bonampak Avenue and García de la Torre Avenue in Supermanzana 2A shortly before 8 a.m. Initial reports indicate the taxi driver, operating vehicle number 2450, attempted to cross Bonampak Avenue from García de la Torre when he entered the path of a Chevrolet traveling along Bonampak toward José López Portillo Avenue.

The Chevrolet struck the taxi’s front left side with significant force, causing the taxi to spin. The private car then veered into oncoming lanes before coming to rest at the entrance of a residential complex with severe front-end damage.

The 68-year-old taxi driver and his three passengers received medical attention from firefighters and Red Cross paramedics. Emergency personnel transported all four injured individuals to General Hospital for treatment.
