Cancún, Quintana Roo — Mexico’s tax authority is urging businesses in Quintana Roo to file their annual tax returns for the 2025 fiscal year by the March 31 deadline, warning against last-minute submissions.

The Tax Administration Service (SAT) in Quintana Roo reminded companies that deadlines vary depending on the type of organization. Non-profit organizations must file by February 16, while businesses in liquidation should have submitted returns between January 1 and 19.

Sandra Raya Torres, head of taxpayer services for the region, emphasized that businesses should not delay the filing process until the final days.

Olga Molina, the regional collections administrator, announced that the 2026 Tax Regularization Program remains active for individuals and corporations with 2024 income up to 300 million pesos. The program offers incentives of up to 100% on fines, surcharges, and collection costs for taxpayers who meet legal requirements.

Tax officials stated the program aims to facilitate voluntary compliance and support those with outstanding tax debts while strengthening federal revenue collection.

Authorities also clarified that businesses are not required to present a Tax Status Certificate to receive invoices, and conditioning invoice delivery on this document constitutes improper practice that could result in financial penalties. They noted that many long lines at SAT offices could be avoided by using the tax data card, which can be obtained easily without requiring an electronic signature.
