Mérida, Yucatán — The wait is over: on December 6, Mérida will host Sabor a Vid, a festival that will bring together wine culture and gastronomy in one place. The event will open its doors starting at 5:00 p.m., offering attendees an experience in the style of the Bajío region. The gathering will be at Casona 333, located on Calle 60, opposite the Paseo 60 plaza.
The festival will feature the participation of more than 20 national and international wineries and over 100 wine labels. Visitors will be able to enjoy pairing tastings, high-level culinary experiences such as select cuts, marquesitas, and charcuterie, as well as live music and other activities.
The goal of Sabor a Vid is to bring viticultural culture closer to the Mexican southeast, both to local consumers and tourists, in an ideal environment to enjoy an outdoor festival.
The event is organized by Vinotelia, a company that has successfully held three editions of “Viva el Vino,” the most important wine festival in the Bajío, which has welcomed more than 6,000 visitors.
Among the participating wineries are representatives from various states of the Republic, such as Aguascalientes, Baja California, Coahuila, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, and Zacatecas, in addition to international labels from Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay.
The organizers hope that Sabor a Vid will become established as the most important festival in the region and that it will become an annual event.
It is worth noting that Yucatán maintains a direct connection with the Bajío through the Mérida–León route of Viva Aerobús, with weekly flights that facilitate the arrival of visitors and strengthen air connectivity between both destinations.
