Roasted Chicken Vendor Gunned Down at Home in Cancún Neighborhood

Cancún, Quintana Roo — A roasted chicken vendor was shot dead inside his home in Cancún’s Ciudad Natura neighborhood early Saturday morning, authorities reported.

The attack occurred around 6 a.m. on March 15 in the Fraccionamiento Ciudad Natura development, located in Cancún’s Region 260. Neighbors on Framboyanes Street, near Natura Street, reported hearing multiple gunshots and called emergency services.

According to preliminary information, two armed individuals arrived at the merchant’s home and knocked on the door. When the man opened the door and saw the suspects were armed, he tried to retreat back inside the house for safety.

The attackers shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene. The vendor was left seriously wounded in the living room of the home, where he ultimately died in front of family members.

Paramedics responded to the scene but confirmed the victim showed no vital signs upon examination.

Municipal police officers cordoned off the area to preserve the scene while investigators and forensic experts conducted procedures to gather evidence.

The body was transported for an autopsy, and the State Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation into the homicide.
